Investigation Update: Suspect Arrested After Shooting incident in Roxbury

Investigation Update: On Monday, May 5, 2024, members of the Youth Violence Strike Force made an onsite warrant arrest of Ahmad Lewis, 28, of Boston, in the area of 100 Washington Street, Quincy. At the time of the arrest, the suspect was wanted on warrants out of Roxbury District Court for unlawful possession of a firearm, unlawful possession of ammunition, discharging a firearm within 500 feet of a dwelling, assault and battery with a firearm, and destruction of property over $1,200. He is expected to be arraigned in Roxbury District Court.

The facts and circumstances surrounding the original incident are as follows: At about 3:47 PM, on Saturday, April 13, 2024, officers assigned to District B-2 (Roxbury) responded to the area of 16 Seaver Street for a report of a person shot. Prior to officers arrival, there was a shot spotter activations at that location. Upon arrival, officers observed an adult male victim suffering from a gunshot wound. The victim was transported to a local hospital with life threatening injuries.
