At 12:25 PM, on Wednesday, April 24, officers assigned to District B-3 (Mattapan) arrested Paul Joseph, 18, of Dorchester, on assault and battery charges.
Officers responded to the area of 9 Peacevale Road for a report of a person stabbed. Upon arrival, officers observed Boston EMS treating a male victim suffering from multiple stab wounds. Officers were advised by school staff that the suspect was separated and taken to a different room.
Officers were able to place the suspect into handcuffs, and located a knife inside the library. The victim was transported to a local hospital with non-life threatening injuries.
Joseph was placed under arrest and charged with assault and battery by means of a dangerous weapon to wit knife. He is expected to be arraigned in Dorchester District Court.
