Officers Arrest 15-year-old After Multiple Armed Robberies in Mattapan

At about 4:37 PM, on Friday, March 29, 2024, detectives assigned to District B-3 (Mattapan) arrested a 15-year-old juvenile male on armed robbery charges.

Detectives were conducting an ongoing investigation in regards to three recent armed robberies. Detectives were able to use video surveillance from the previous incidents to determine a possible suspect.

As detectives canvassed the area of Harvard Street for further video surveillance, they observed a male matching the description of the suspect enter a convenience store in the area of 140 Harvard Avenue. Detectives stopped their unmarked cruiser in front of the store and immediately made entrance. Detectives stopped the suspect inside the store and placed him into handcuffs.

After further investigation, detectives recovered a replica firearm, and clothing that matched the description. Detectives later determined that the suspect was involved in the three recent armed robberies.

The 15-year-old juvenile male was placed under arrest and charged with three counts of delinquent to wit; armed robbery (while masked). He is expected to be arraigned in Boston Juvenile Court.

The facts and circumstances surrounding the prior incidents are as follows: At about 8:46 PM, on Tuesday, March 26, 2024, officers assigned to District B-3 (Mattapan) responded to the area of 766 Blue Hill Avenue for a report of an armed robbery with a firearm. The suspect stole all the money from the cash register, and several marijuana products. The suspect fled the scene towards Abbott Street.

At about 6:54 PM, on Wednesday, March 27, 2024, officers assigned to District B-3 (Mattapan) responded to the area of 844 Blue Hill Avenue for a report of an armed robbery with a firearm. The suspect stole money from both cash registers and several marijuana products. The suspect fled the scene in the direction of Vesta Road.

At about 5:49 PM, on Thursday, March 28, 2024, officers assigned to District B-3 (Mattapan) responded to the area of 124 Harvard Street for an armed robbery report. Officers were advised that a suspect had robbed the store at gunpoint at approximately 2:10 PM, and stole approximately $200-$400 in US currency. The suspect fled the scene towards Kingsdale Street.
