Officers Recover Drugs After a Traffic Stop in Roslindale

At about 7:15 PM, on Monday, March 25, 2024, officers assigned to District B-3 (Mattapan) arrested Lamar Tillery, 32, of Hyde Park, on drug related charges.

Officers were on patrol in the area of 572 Cummins Highway when they observed a motor vehicle operating with a cracked windshield. Officers conducted an inquiry of the vehicle, which revealed that the vehicle had not passed inspection in over 21 months.

At this time, officers activated their marked cruiser’s emergency lights and sirens to initiate a traffic stop. Officers made contact with the operator of the motor vehicle, and advised him of the stop. Officers requested the operator to produce his license and registration. Officers determined that the suspect’s driver’s license was suspended.

Officers requested the suspect to exit the vehicle, and placed him into handcuffs. During a booking search, officers recovered multiple plastic bags believed to be containing heroin and a crack cocaine. Officers also recovered approximately $907 in US currency.

Tillery was charged with unlicensed operation of a motor vehicle, possession with intent to distribute class A, and possession with intent to distribute class B. He is expected to be arraigned in Dorchester District Court.
