The Boston Police Department extends heartfelt congratulations to Captain Detective Leighton B. Facey on becoming the first African American Captain Detective within our Department. Captain Detective Facey’s career, thus far, has spanned more than 25 years of service.
Captain Detective Facey is currently assigned to the Bureau of Investigative Serves. He has served the residents of our City in a number of roles in various police Districts, including B-2, B-3, E-18, D-4. The Captain Detective previously served as a Community Service Sergeant on the district level, as well as a Lieutenant Detective in BPD’s Civil Rights Unit.
Captain Detective Facey’s journey to his new role is a testament to his service to the community.
