At about 7:00 AM, on Saturday, February 17, 2024, officers assigned to District A-1 (Downtown) arrested Calvin Feeney, 24, of Douglas, on attempted B&E charges.
Officers responded to a radio call for a person going up a fire escape ladder in the area of Cooper Street and Lynn Street. Boston Police Operations provided officers with a description of a suspect wearing all black and a black ski mask. Officers observed the suspect on the fire escape on the Thatcher Street side of the building.
Officers requested the suspect to climb down the fire escape to which he complied, but suddenly reversed back up the ladder to flee the area. Officers were advised that the fire escape led to a different street, and officers saw the suspect jump down. A foot pursuit ensued, and the suspect was placed into handcuffs.
Feeney was placed under arrest and charged with: Attempt to commit a crime (Breaking and Entering in the day time), disturbing the peace, and resisting arrest. He is expected to be arraigned in Boston Municipal Court.
