At about 7:22 PM, on Thursday, December 21, 2023, officers assigned to District D-4 (South End) arrested Robert Santana, 28, of Lawrence, and Danine Simpson, 27, of Bronx, New York.
Officers responded to the area of 40 Dalton Street for a report of a person with a knife. Upon arrival, officers were advised that a male went to a room on the 23rd floor to meet a female for sex for a fee. Officers were told that a female suspect threatened to stab the victim, and robbed him of approximately $200. Officers were made aware that a male suspect could also be heard from inside the room. The victim returned to the lobby and reported the incident to hotel staff.
As officers made their way to the 23rd floor, and observed a male suspect in the hallway who immediately tried to flee. Officers were able to stop the suspect, and conducted a pat frisk. Officers recovered a firearm from a fanny pack which was later determined to be a Glock 43X with eight rounds in the magazine. Officers also recovered approximately $12,363 in US currency.
Officers continued their investigation and encountered the female suspect on the 23rd floor, and immediately placed her into handcuffs.
Santana was placed under arrest and charged with: Unlawful possession of a firearm, unlawful possession of ammunition, and unlawful possession of a large capacity feeding device. He is expected to be arraigned in Boston Municipal Court.
Simpson was placed under arrest and charged with: Armed robbery. She is expected to be arraigned in Boston Municipal Court.
A 28-year-old male suspect will be summonsed to Boston Municipal Court for sexual conduct for a fee.
