Investigation Update: On Tuesday, December 19, 2023, Detectives assigned to District B-3 (Mattapan) arrested Francisco Guerrero, 20, of Dorchester, on firearm related charges. After further investigation, detectives were able to determine that Guerrero was the shooter in a prior incident. Guerrero was placed under arrest and charged with: Four counts of assault by means of a dangerous weapon to wit firearm, unlawful possession of a firearm, unlawful possession of ammunition, and discharging a firearm within 500 feet of a dwelling. He is expected to be arraigned in Dorchester District Court.
The facts and circumstances surrounding the original incident are as follows: At about 12:51 AM, on Monday, December 18, 2023, officers assigned to District B-3 (Mattapan) responded to the area of 158 Spencer Street for a report of shots fired. Upon arrival, officers were advised that a verbal argument ensued, and a suspect fired one round at a home. No injuries were reported and the suspect fled the area in a motor vehicle.
