At about 10:05 PM, on Tuesday, December 19, 2023, members of the Youth Violence Strike Force arrested Shamaun Booker, 27, of Dorchester, on firearm related charges.
Officers were on patrol in the area of Warren Street and Intervale Street when they observed a motor vehicle without a front license plate. After further investigation, it was revealed that the motor vehicle’s registration was revoked for insurance. Officers also determined that the license plate did not match the vehicle. At this time, officers activated their emergency lights and sirens to initiate a traffic stop.
Officers made contact with the occupant and requested that he exit the vehicle. Officers immediately placed the suspect into handcuffs, and recovered a firearm from inside the vehicle. The firearm was later determined to be a Sig Sauer P320 with one round in the chamber and nine rounds in the magazine.
Booker was placed under arrest and charged with: Unlawful possession of a firearm, and unlawful possession of ammunition. He is expected to be arraigned in Roxbury District Court.
