Suspect Arrested with a Loaded Firearm in South Boston

At about 7:53 PM, on Saturday, December 2, 2023, officers assigned to District C-6 (South Boston) made an onsite firearm arrest of Alajandro Rodriguez, 18, of Boston.

Officers were on patrol in the area of 941 Massachusetts Avenue when they observed a group of five individuals congregating in an area with a posted “No Trespassing” notice. As officers exited their cruiser, the group began to disperse. Officers observed one individual to be limping from the area. Officers attempted to stop the suspect, who bladed his body away from officers.

Officers requested the suspect to remove his hands from his pockets, which he refused. After multiple requests, the suspect finally made his hands visible. Officers conducted a pat frisk of the suspect, and recovered a firearm from his waistband. The firearm was later determined to be a Glock 22 with ten rounds in the magazine. Officers also recovered five plastic bags of what they believed to be crack cocaine.

Rodriguez was placed under arrest and charged with: Unlawful possession of a firearm, unlawful possession of ammunition, unlawful possession of a large capacity feeding device, possession with intent to distribute class B and trespassing. He is expected to be arraigned in South Boston District Court.
