Two Suspects Arrested After Detail Officer was Pepper Sprayed

At about 11:18 AM, on Friday, December 1, 2023, an officer working a paid detail on sited a fight in the area of Washington Street and Talbot Avenue. The detail officer observed two female parties fighting in the middle of the roadway.

The detail officer was able to separate the two, but simultaneously another fight broke out involving another group. One of the female suspects turned to the detail officer and pepper sprayed her in the face. The suspect attempted to get into a motor vehicle and flee the area.

Other officers responded to the area, and were able to stop the motor vehicle. Officers were quickly able to place the suspect into handcuffs as she began to resist. One of the other parties inside the motor vehicle, attempted to interfere with the arrest. Officers gave the second suspect multiple orders to stop interfering or she would be arrested. The suspect began to assault multiple officers, and a struggle ensued. After numerous verbal commands to put her hands behind her back, officers were able to place the second suspect into handcuffs.

Skyla Malave, 18 of Dorchester, was placed under arrest and charged with: Assault and battery on a police officer, assault and battery with a dangerous weapon, and resisting arrest.

Priscilla Malave, 40, of Dorchester, was placed under arrest and charged with: Assault and battery on a police officer, and resisting arrest.

Both suspects are expected to be arraigned in Dorchester District Court.
