BPD in The Community: On Tuesday November 21, 2023 Boston Police Commissioner Michael Cox was in attendance to serve Thanksgiving Dinner at the 27th Annual Table of Friends. This event is hosted by TD Garden Neighborhood Charities to support the unhoused population in Boston. In partnership with Friends of Boston’s Homeless, we invite more than 1000 area homeless into the arena for a hot Thanksgiving meal and provide winter care packs for those who attend. Volunteers include elected officials, front office staff from TD Garden, Bruins and Celtics and other local influencers. TD Garden Neighborhood Charities also provides a cash donation of $5000 to The Housing Start Up Fund in an effort to support the ongoing push to move this population from shelters to permanent housing.
