At about 11:48 AM, on Tuesday, November 14, 2023, members of the Youth Violence Strike Force made an onsite firearm arrest of Sylvester King, 30, of Boston.
Officers were on patrol in the area of Freeport Street and Tenean Street when they observed a suspect who they knew had an active warrant for his arrest. Officers stopped the suspect, and placed him into handcuffs. After further investigation, officers recovered a firearm which was later determined to be a FIE Titan with 3 rounds in the magazine.
King was placed under arrest and charged with: Unlawful possession of a firearm, and unlawful possession of ammunition. The suspect’s warrant was for unlawful possession of a firearm, unlawful possession of ammunition, assault and battery with a dangerous weapon, and discharging a firearm within 500 feet of a building. He is expected to be arraigned in Dorchester District Court.
