BPD in the Community: Multiple Police Agencies Join Cancer Support Procession For 11-year-old Battling Cancer

BPD in the Community: On Tuesday, November 14, 2023 Officer Daniel Marifiote assigned to District Area A-7 (East Boston) alongside District A-7 Captain Dean Bickerton coordinated a Cancer Support Ride for Cristopher Chavarria. Cristopher Chavarria, a former student at East Boston Central Catholic School, is an 11-year-old kind hearted and cheerful boy who was diagnosed with Leukemia in 2018. Cristopher has been battling Leukemia for several years and continues to have a smile on his face. In hopes of keeping that smile on Cristopher’s face, Officer Daniel Marifiote, with the help of District A-7 Captain Bickerton coordinated a police procession by Christopher’s home in Revere.

Several members of the Boston Police Department were joined by the Revere Police, Revere Fire, Massachusetts State Police, Saugus Police, Berklee College Police, Everett Police, Swampscott Police, Nahant Police, Malden Police, Chelsea Police, Lynn Police, Stoneham Police, Harvard University Police, Metropolitan Law Enforcement SWAT, and Secret Service for this special ride. The Boston Police Department would like to thank everyone that took part in this special event to help make Cristopher’s day a little brighter.
