At about 1:10 AM, on September 27, 2023, officers assigned to the Anti-Crime Unit of District B-2 (Roxbury) arrested Victor Vega, 32, of Roxbury and William Reyes-Gonzalez, 29 of Phenix, Alabama, on firearm related charges.
Officers were on patrol in the area of Warren Street when they observed a motor vehicle travelling with no lights on. Officers activated their cruiser’s emergency lights and sirens to initiate a traffic stop. Officers were able to stop the vehicle in the area of 2 Waverly Street.
Officers made contact with the occupants and engaged in basic conversation. The occupants were unable to answer basic questions, and were untruthful with their answers. Officers requested the occupants to exit the vehicle.
After further investigation, officers recovered three firearms from inside the vehicle. The firearms were later determined to be a Taurus GX4 with ten rounds in the magazine, a Glock 43x with ten rounds in the magazine, and a Taurus GX4 with eleven rounds in the magazine. Officers also recovered nineteen loose 9mm rounds of ammunition from Vega’s pocket.
Vega was placed under arrest and charged with: Two counts of unlawful possession of a firearm, Two counts of unlawful possession of ammunition, Two counts of unlawful possession of a large capacity feeding device, and two counts of defacement of a firearm serial number. He is expected to be arraigned in Roxbury District Court.
Reyes-Gonzalez was placed under arrest and charged with: Unlawful possession of a firearm, unlawful possession of ammunition, unlawful possession of a large capacity feeding device, and defacement of a firearm serial number. He is expected to be arraigned in Roxbury District Court.
