Suspect Arrested with a Firearm in Roxbury

At about 3:15 PM, on Monday, September 25, 2023, members of the Youth Violence Strike Force made an on-site firearm arrest of Byron Palmer, 35 of Boston.

Officers were on patrol in the area of 38 Warren Street to address on going community complaints and quality of life issues. Officers were aware of a male suspect wanted from a recent Assault with a Firearm incident. Officers observed the suspect in the area, and stopped to speak with him.

Officers conducted a pat frisk, and they recovered a firearm from suspect’s waistband. The firearm was later determined to be a Ghost Gun with ten rounds in the magazine. Officers also recovered numerous plastic bags containing what they believed to be fentanyl, heroin, and crack cocaine.  

Palmer was placed under arrest and charged with: Unlawful possession of a firearm, Unlawful possession of ammunition, Possession of a firearm during the commission of a felony, Possession with intent to distribute class A and B. He is expected to be arraigned in Roxbury District Court.
