At about 12:41 PM, on Saturday, September 23, 2023, officers assigned to District B-3 (Mattapan) responded to the area of 90 Glenway Street for a report of an armed robbery. The suspect displayed a firearm, and stole an unknown amount of money.
As part of an ongoing investigation, detectives were able to view security cameras and identified an involved suspect motor vehicle. Detectives were later able to identify that the involved suspect resided at an apartment at 419 Seaver Street.
At about 10:30 PM, on Monday, September 26, 2023, officers and detectives responded to 419 Seaver Street to speak with the suspect. Officers knocked and announced their presence multiple times, but no one came to answer the door. Officers continued to knock as they could hear movement inside the apartment. Officers received information that the suspect had barricaded himself inside and was armed with a firearm.
Negotiators and SWAT were requested and responded to assist at the scene. After a period of negotiations, SWAT made a forced entry into the apartment and placed the suspect under arrest. The apartment is secured pending a search warrant.
Andrew Singleton, 38, of Dorchester, was arrested and charged with: Armed Robbery. He is expected to be arraigned in Dorchester District Court.
