At about 12:40 AM, on Sunday, September 24, 2023, officers assigned to District B-2 (Roxbury) arrested Christopher Summers, 51, of Boston, and Gary Summers, 54, of Brockton, on firearm related charges.
Officers responded to the area of 5 Perth Street for a report of a person with a gun. Officers were provided a description of a suspect, and a motor vehicle he was attempting to flee in. Upon arrival, officers immediately observed the suspect matching the description sitting in a motor vehicle with another individual.
Officers immediately requested both suspects to exit the motor vehicle, and were placed into handcuffs. After further investigation, officers recovered four firearms from inside the motor vehicle. The firearms were later determined to be a Springfield Armory XD with thirteen rounds in the magazine, a Smith & Wesson 1911 with eight rounds in the magazine, a Ruger EC9s with seven rounds in the magazine, a Kel-Tec P3AT with six rounds in the magazine, as well as a plastic bag with seven loose rounds of 9MM ammunition. Officers also located multiple plastic bags containing illegal drugs, and approximately $2,100 in US currency.
Both suspects were placed under arrest and charged with: Four counts of Unlawful Possession of a Firearm, Five counts of Unlawful Possession of Ammunition, Unlawful Possession of a Large Capacity Feeding Device, Possession with intent to distribute class B, Possession with intent to distribute class C, Possession with intent to distribute class E, and Two counts of receiving stolen property. Both are expected to be arraigned in Dorchester District Court.
