National Forensic Science Week, which begins September 18th and runs through September 24th, celebrates the crucial role forensic scientists play in the criminal justice system. The Boston Police Department would like to recognize the dedicated and talented women and men of the Forensic Division, which comprises nearly 100 sworn officers and civilian personnel.
The Division offers services in crime scene processing, evidence examination, firearms analysis, latent print processing and comparison, impression evidence collection and comparison, trace evidence examination, and digital evidence. Forensic Division staff not only support our numerous investigations through their analytical work and objective testimony but also engage and educate various schools and community organizations by giving demonstrations and lectures.
