Investigation Update: On Wednesday, September 6, 2023, officers assigned to C-6 (South Boston), Street Outreach and, Detectives from the Homicide unit arrested Michael Bellanti, 32, of Boston. An Officer assigned to the Street Outreach unit recognized an individual matching the description of a person wanted in relation to a stabbing incident. He is expected to be arraigned in South Boston District Court.
The facts and circumstances surrounding the original incident are as follows: At about 12:07 am, on Saturday, August 19, 2023, officers assigned to District C-6 (South Boston) responded to the area of Southampton St & Atkinson St for a report of a Stabbing. The suspect was involved in a physical altercation in which he stabbed the victim several times. Officers canvassed the area for the suspect to no avail.
