At about 10:32 AM, on Wednesday, August 30, 2023, members of the Youth Violence Strike Force arrested Deandre Singletary, 30, of Roxbury on drug trafficking chargers.
Officers were on in the area of Eustis Street and Harrison Avenue when they observed a motor vehicle with a registered owner having a suspended license. During a CJIS inquiry, officers also learned that that owner had six active warrants for his arrest.
Officers activated their emergency lights and sirens to initiate a traffic stop. Officers made contact with the operator, requested him to exit the vehicle, and placed him into handcuffs. As officers searched the motor vehicle, they located what they believed to be Crack Cocaine. It was later determined that the Crack Cocaine was approximately 22 grams.
Singletary was placed under arrest and charged with; Trafficking of Class B, and Unlicensed Operation of a Motor Vehicle. The warrants were for charges of Assault by Means of a Dangerous Weapon, Two Counts of Forgery, Operating After a Suspended License, Receiving a Stolen Motor Vehicle and Larceny over $1,200. He is expected to be arraigned in Roxbury District Court.
