Investigation Update: On Thursday, August 31, 2023, members of the Youth Violence Strike Force made an on-site warrant arrest of Nasiah Floyd, 26, in Brockton. At the time of his arrest, the suspect was wanted on an outstanding warrant sought out of Dorchester District Court for Unlawful Possession of a Firearm, Unlawful Possession of Ammunition, and Discharge of a Firearm within 500ft of a Dwelling. He is expected to be arraigned in Dorchester District Court.
The facts and circumstances surrounding the original incident are as follows: At about 8:41 PM, on Saturday, August 12, 2023, officers assigned to District B-3 (Mattapan) responded to the area of Wales Street and Browning Avenue for a report of shots fired. Officers recovered ballistic evidence on scene. After further investigation, detectives were able to identify one of the shooting suspects as Nasiah Floyd and sought out a warrant for his arrest.
