Two Suspects Arrested on Firearm Charges in Roxbury

At about 6:53 PM, on Wednesday, August 9, 2023, officers assigned to District B-2 (Roxbury) arrested Deja Anthony, 33, of Dorchester, and Shantel Reid, 37, of Dorchester on firearm related charges.

Officers responded to the area of 119 Madison Park CT for a report of a person with a gun. Officers were provided a description from Operations of a female was holding a firearm. Upon arrival, officers immediately observed a female matching the description reaching into a motor vehicle.

As officers approached the suspect, they observed the motor vehicle’s passenger door open. The suspect was pat frisk, as well as the reaching area within the motor vehicle. Officers recovered a loaded firearm from inside the vehicle, and the suspect was placed into handcuffs. The firearm was later determined to be a Glock 19 with one round in the chamber and 14 rounds in the magazine.

A second suspect approached officers and stated that she owned the motor vehicle. Officers advised the suspect that the vehicle was not parked legally, and would be towed, if not moved. The suspect was not able to provide an active driver’s license, and the car would be towed. Officers conducted a motor vehicle inventory search, and located two loaded extended magazines with 15 rounds in each from inside the vehicle. Officers then placed the second suspect into handcuffs.

Anthony was placed under arrest and charged with; Unlawful Possession of a Firearm, Unlawful Possession of Ammunition, Unlawful Possession of a Large Capacity Feeding Device and Threats to Commit a Crime. She is expected to be arraigned in Roxbury District Court.

Reid was placed under arrest and charged with; Unlawful Possession of Ammunition, and Two Counts Unlawful Possession of a Large Capacity Feeding Device. She is expected to be arraigned in Roxbury District Court.
