Two Loaded Firearms Recovered in Dorchester

At about 8:19 PM, Monday, July 17, 2023, members of the Youth Violence Strike Force, made an on-site firearm arrest of Titus Christian, 19, of Roxbury.

Officers were on patrol in the area of 590 Dudley Street, when they observed a large group congregating around a motor vehicle illegally parked in a handicap parking spot. As officers attempted to speak with the group, two individuals separated from the group, with one grabbing at his waistband.

Officers attempted to speak with the individual who immediately sprinted from the area. A brief foot pursuit ensued, and officers were quickly able to handcuff the suspect. Officers recovered a loaded firearm from the suspect’s waistband. The firearm was later determined to be a Glock 22 with one round in the chamber, and fourteen rounds in the magazine.

Other officers stayed with the group and asked who the vehicle belonged to, to which no one replied. Officers advised the group that the vehicle would need to be towed. As officers conducted a motor vehicle inventory search, they recovered a loaded firearm from inside the vehicle. The firearm was later determined to be a Ruger LC9 with one round in the chamber, with six rounds in the magazine.

Christian was placed under arrest and charged with; Unlawful Possession of a Firearm, Unlawful Possession of Ammunition, and Unlawful Possession of a Large Capacity Feeding Device. He is expected to be arraigned in Roxbury District Court.
