BPD Operation Results in 11 Arrests in the area of Downtown Crossing and Boston Common

In an effort to address ongoing community concerns and quality of life issues in the Downtown Crossing and the Boston Common area, the Boston Police Department conducted an operation on Wednesday, July 12, 2023, which resulted in 11 arrests on numerous charges. These arrests stem from outstanding warrants or new charges as a result of this operation. All parties will be arraigned in Boston Municipal Court.

Please see below for named suspects followed by their respective charges:

1. Michael Coleman, 71, of Boston, Warrant – Possession and Distribution of Class B

2. Leonel Nolasco, 67, of Jamaica Plain, is charged with Possession of Class C

3. Stephen Gomes, 51, of Boston, is charged with Possession and Distribution of Class C

4. Edward Bates, 33 of Andover, is charged with Receiving Stolen Property, Unlawfully Carrying a Dangerous Weapon, and Possession of Class B

5. Reuben Thomas, 41, of East Boston, is charged with Possession of Class B

6. Samantha Merrill, 34, of Boston, Warrant – Possession of Class B and C, Malicious Destruction of Property, Larceny and Trespassing

7. Cleeffnold Jean-Baptiste, 30, of Randolph, is charged with Possession of Class B and E

8. Rachid Belhadj, 64, of Boston, is charged with Possession of Class B, and Receiving Stolen Property

9. Erika Dimarzo, 39, of East Boston, Warrant – Possession and Distribution of Class A and B, Larceny, Resisting Arrest, and Shoplifting

10. Bryan Cepin, 26, of Boston, Warrant – Breaking and Entering, and Armed Robbery

11. David Loughran, 35, of Stoneham, Warrant – Breaking and Entering, and Possession of Class E
