At about 6:37 PM, on Thursday, June 29, 2023, officers assigned to the Anti-Crime Unit of District D-4 (South End), made an on-site firearm arrest of Asiyaa Clemons, 18, of Roxbury, and Khalil Yusuff, 32, of Roxbury.
Officers responded to the area of 42 Harrison Archway for a report of a person with a gun. Officers were made aware that a male suspect had a firearm. As officers arrived on scene, they immediately observed a group of individuals and a suspect matching the description. The group observed officers and began to sprint away and discarded a fanny pack. A foot pursuit ensued and officers were able to safely place both suspects into handcuffs.
Officers searched the surrounding area and located the discarded fanny pack under a motor vehicle. With the assistance of the K-9 Unit, a firearm was recovered from inside the fanny pack. The firearm was later determined to be a Taurus G2C with one round in the chamber and 16 rounds in the magazine.
Both suspects were placed under arrest and charged with; Unlawful Possession of a Firearm, Unlawful Possession of Ammunition, Unlawful Possession of a Large Capacity Feeding Device and Assault by Means of a Dangerous Weapon. Both are expected to be arraigned in Boston Municipal Court.
