Loaded Firearm and Trafficking Amounts of Drugs Recovered in Dorchester

At about 9:42 PM, on Thursday, June 29, 2023, members of the Youth Violence Strike Force made an on-site firearm arrest of Shalik Jordan, 31, of South Boston.

Officers were conducting an ongoing firearm investigation in the area of 110 Westview Street. Based on their information, officers were aware that the suspect, Shalik Jordan, may be in possession of a firearm, and an active warrant for his arrest for firearm related offenses.

Officers observed a group congregating in the area around a motor vehicle, operated by the suspect of the investigation. As officers approached the group, they attempted to speak with the suspect. The group made several attempts to physically and verbally intervene with the officer’s investigation.

Officers were able to place the suspect into handcuffs without incident. During a search of the motor vehicle, officers located a firearm later determined to be a Glock 48 with one round in the chamber and eight rounds in the magazine.

Officers also recovered multiple plastic bags appearing to contain Fentanyl and Cocaine. The Fentanyl was approximately 11 grams and the Crack Cocaine was approximately 40 grams.

Jordan was placed under arrest and charged with; Unlawful Possession of a Firearm, Unlawful Possession of Ammunition, Trafficking of Class B, and Possession with Intent to Distribute Class A. He is expected to be arraigned in Dorchester District Court.
