Investigation Update: At about 7:33 PM on Tuesday June 27, 2023, members of the BPD Fugitive Unit located and arrested Demone Coleman, 44, of Dorchester, in the area of 134 Greenwood Street in Dorchester. At the time of his arrest, the suspect was wanted on an outstanding warrant sought out of Suffolk Superior Court on charges of Murder and Unlawful Possession of a Firearm stemming from the murder of Christopher Shivers. The suspect will be arraigned in Suffolk Superior Court.
The facts and circumstances surrounding the original incident are as follows: At about 10:17 PM, on Saturday April 8, 2023, officers assigned to District E-13 (Jamaica Plain), responded to a call for a person shot in the area of 2055 Columbus Avenue in Roxbury. Upon arrival, officers observed an adult male suffering from apparent gunshot wounds. Boston EMS transported the victim to a local hospital where he was pronounced deceased.
