At about 12:14 AM, on Monday, June 19, 2023, officers assigned to District B-2 (Roxbury) arrested Elias Perea, 44 of Boston on firearm related charges.
Officers responded to the area of 252 Magnolia Street for a report of a person with a gun. Officers were advised that a fight had occurred, and were provided a description of a male suspect who displayed a firearm.
Officers quickly observed a male matching the description, and saw him throw a firearm. Officers were safely able to place the suspect into handcuffs without incident. Officers were able to locate the firearm and it was later determined to be a Glock 33 with one round in the chamber and five rounds in the magazine. During the search of the suspect, officers also recovered what they believed to be approximately 10 grams of Cocaine and Crack Cocaine.
Perea was placed under arrest and charged with; Unlawful Possession of a Firearm, Unlawful Possession of Ammunition, Possession of Class B, and Assault with a Dangerous Weapon. He is expected to be arraigned in Dorchester District Court.
