Two Suspects Arrested for Firearm Charges in Roxbury

At about 5:05 PM, on Sunday, March 26, 20223, officers assigned to District B-2 (Roxbury), arrested Miguel Serrano, 19, of Dorchester, and Eddie Rodriguez Valasquez, 21, of Dorchester, on firearm related charges.

Officers were responding to the area of 312 Blue hill Avenue for a radio call for a person with a gun. Officers were provided a description of the suspect’s vehicle, and the involved suspects.

Officers observed the vehicle driving towards Quincy Street, and then come to an abrupt stop in the area of Dacia Street. Officers observed both suspects flee from the vehicle and could see one suspect had a firearm in his hand. A foot pursuit ensued and one of the suspects was able to be apprehended, while officers lost sought of the other suspect.

Officers began to canvass the area of the foot pursuit, when they observed a firearm in the backyard of a residence. The firearm was determined to be a Glock 30 with one round in the chamber and nine rounds in the magazine.

As officers began to process the crime scene, they observed the second suspect walking from the area. Officers were able to quickly apprehend the second suspect and placed him into handcuffs without incident.

Serrano was placed under arrest and charged with; Unlawful Possession of a Firearm, Unlawful Possession of Ammunition, Assault by Means of a Dangerous Weapon to wit Firearm, and Unlicensed operation of a motor vehicle. He is expected to be arraigned in Roxbury District Court.

Valasquez was placed under arrest and charged with; Unlawful Possession of a Firearm, and Unlawful Possession of Ammunition. He is expected to be arraigned in Roxbury District Court.
