Investigation Update: Three Arrests Made in Homicide Investigation in Roxbury

Investigation Update: At about 6:25 AM, on Thursday, September 2, 2021, Members of the Boston Police Fugitive Unit arrested Karonn Brown, 49, of Mattapan at his home residence. Simultaneously, Officers coordinated with the ATF and US Marshals HIDTA Task Force to arrest Derrell Sanford, 26, of Boston in New Hampshire. Sanford is in custody and awaiting extradition. On August 13, 2021, members of the Boston Police Homicide Unit arrested an adult male in connection to this homicide. All three suspects will be charged with Murder.

Original Incident: At about 8:35 AM on Sunday, August 8, 2021, officers assigned to District B-2 (Roxbury) responded to a call for a person stabbed in the area of Pierson Street and Massachusetts Avenue in Roxbury. On arrival, officers located, Ricardo Garcia, 34, of Boston, suffering an apparent stab wound. The victim was transported to a local hospital where he was later pronounced deceased.
