At about 11:03 PM on Thursday December 24, 2020, officers assigned to District B-2 (Roxbury) responded to a call for a breaking and entering in progress in the area of 22 Pompeii Street in Roxbury. On arrival, officers made entry to the address and located an adult male victim suffering from apparent traumatic injuries. While on scene, officers arrested an adult male suspect who has since been arraigned in Roxbury District Court on charges of Aggravated Burglary and Aggravated Assault and Battery on an Elderly Person.
The victim was transported to a local area hospital where he suffered serious injuries. The victim succumbed to those injuries on Tuesday, January 12, 2021 and was pronounced deceased . The victim has since been identified as Bruce Rose, 66, of Roxbury.
The suspect will now face an additional charge of Murder in Roxbury District Court.
