UPDATE: South Boston Bank Robbery Suspect Caught By BPD

Last night Boston Police in conjunction with the Bank Robbery Task Force identified and apprenhended the suspect responsible for two recent bank robberies in South Boston. With the assistance of vigilant community members, officers arrested Timothy Conlon, 29, of South Boston.

On 6/9/2011 at approximately 4:35pm, police responded to a report of a bank robbery at 474 West Broadway Street in South Boston (Area C-6).  Upon arrival, police were informed that a white male in his 20\’s approximately 6\’2\” tall with blue eyes and blonde hair wearing a baseball cap entered the bank, approached the teller and handed a note demanding money.  The suspect placed the money, along with a dye pack into his pocket and left the bank.  Witnesses observed the suspect riding a bicycle at the intersection of Dorchester & West 3rd Streets with red dye on his pants. 

On 6/13/2011 at approximately 11:17am, police responded to a report of a bank robbery at 470 West Broadway Street in South Boston.  Upon arrival, police were informed that a white male in his 20\’s approximately 6\” tall with blue eyes and light brown hair wearing a baseball cap entered the bank, approached the teller and handed a note demanding money.  The teller complied and the suspect then fled the bank via the rear door.
