Yesterday morning around 10:57AM, officers from District B-3 (Mattapan) responded to 85 Wellington Hill St. in Mattapan in response to a call from a detail officer call for a fight.
On arrival, the detail officer and assisting units spoke to the victim who was bleeding from the back of his head. The victim reported to officers that his brother hit him with a gun and directed officers to his brother who was walking up a nearby driveway. The victim continued by telling officers that he had gotten into a fight with his brother when his brother pulled out a gun wrapped in a black blue colored cloth and hit him over the head. The fight was stopped when a witness alerted a nearby detail officer who separated the two. The detail officer reported to assisting units that he was flagged down by a witness and arrived on scene to see the two brothers fighting but did not witness a gun.
Having heard this story, several other units responded to the area and conducted a search of the area where the brother was initially seen walking away near his house and there recovered a black handgun wrapped in a towel from a recycle bin.
The suspect, Christopher M. Taylor, 44 of Mattapan was arrested and charged with Assault and Battery by Means of a Dangerous Weapon (Gun), and Assault and Battery.
