Yesterday morning around 11:44AM, officers from District D-4 (South End) responded to 70 Burbank St. for a report of a theft of a piece of luggage.
On arrival, officers spoke to the victim who told officers that a piece of her luggage was stolen around 7:23am and that the person who had stolen the luggage was now back at this location. The victim further informed officers that she had reviewed the building security video footage and had observed the suspect take the bag which item totaling in excess of $900.00. Officers watched the video and observed the suspect steal the victim’s bag and responded to the apartment that the suspect was visiting. Officers spoke to the suspect and advised him that they had observed him stealing the victim’s bag from the front stairs on security camera. The suspect at this time admitted to stealing the bag and reported that he had taken the bag to a relative’s place.
Officers responded to the address that the suspect stated that he had taken the bag to and there recovered the stolen bag and most of its contents except for a video console, some video games and a cell phone. Some of the missing items were later returned to officers by relatives of the victim.
The suspect, Anthony Harley, 24, of Boston was arrested and charged with larceny over $200.00.
