Friday night around 11:52PM, officers from District A-1 (Downtown Boston) responded to Commercial St. /Sissy K’s for a male who had stolen a purse.
En route, officers were advised that he bar staff was holding the suspect down. Officers arrived on scene and took the suspect into custody while they further investigated the incident.
Officers then spoke to the two female victims who reported that they were dancing when the suspect started to touch them. The victims told the suspect to leave them alone and the suspect grabbed their bags and fled the bar. The victims then told bar staff who called the police. The bar staff reported that the suspect came back a short time later after leaving with the victim’s bags and they held him until police arrived.
Officers then spoke to the suspect, Richard T. Thompson, 31 of Shearwater, Nova Scotia Canada who was heavily intoxicated but he was unable to tell officers where he had discarded the victim’s bags. He was arrested and charged with counts of Larceny from a Person.
