The Boston Police Department is greatly appreciative to New England Patriots owner Robert Kraft for his recent participation in the department’s Leadership Development Program. On May 2, 2011, Mr. Kraft addressed 44 recently promoted Sergeants at the Boston Carpenters Apprenticeship and Training building in Dorchester.
Mr. Kraft provided new BPD supervisors with valuable insight on leadership and management skills as they embark on this new chapter of their careers. Mr. Kraft commented on the importance of demonstrating common sense, courage and intellectual ability as these sergeants develop their own leadership style geared at building teamwork.
The Boston Police Department’s Bureau of Professional Development launched the Leadership Development Program (LDP) in 2010 for the Department’s newly promoted supervisors. The LDP has a four week comprehensive curriculum which primarily focuses on Leadership, Management and Command. The leadership development training program is designed to assist newly promoted Sergeants to make the transition into management positions.
