At about 4:49pm, on Sunday, April 24, 2011, officers from Area C-11 (Dorchester) were on patrol when officers received information about a person breaking into cars in the area of Savin Hill Ave and Denny Street. Officers further learned that the owner of the car was pursuing the suspect on foot. According to the victim, he was sitting inside his home, eating Easter dinner, when he looked out his window and observed an Asian male (wearing a gray shirt and blue jeans) breaking into his car. According to the victim, he then ran outside and gave chase to the suspect. In short time, officers located the suspect who was being detained by the victim and a friend.
Officers arrested Huy Nguyen, 29, of Boston and charged him with Breaking & Entering a Motor Vehicle.
