It’s that time of year again!!! The 5th Annual Boston Police Commissioner’s Cup Hockey Tournament kicks into full gear with 12 games being played over a seven day period at the Jim Roche Ice Arena on the VFW Parkway in West Roxbury. The tourney, comprised of Boston Police officers from all over the city, begins April 4th and runs through April 10th (see schedule below). The big question heading into this year’s tourney revolves around last year’s Commissioner’s Cup Champion. For the past two years, the team representing Area A-1 (Downtown) has won back to back championships. So, the question going into this year’s tourney, “Can they three-peat???
Area A is led by last year’s Tourney MVP, former East Boston High stand-out Charlie Daniels who played four years at St. Lawrence University. Said present day East Boston High School hockey head coach Bobby Anthony, “Charlie Daniels is one of the best players to ever come out of the East Boston High School Hockey program. He’s a joy to watch and if you get the chance to see him in action, do it.”
