At about 1:15am, on Wednesday, January 12, 2011, officers from Area D-14 (Brighton) were on patrol travelling along N. Beacon Street when they observed an individual walking in the middle of the street. As officers got closer, officers observed the suspect intentionally throw himself onto the trunk of a passing motor vehicle. Officers then observed the individual laughing hysterically as he picked himself off the ground. Seeing this, officers promptly activated their emergency equipment (lights & sirens) and stopped their cruiser. When officers approached the suspect in an effort to escort him out of the street, the suspect began to verbally disrespect and disparage the officers. When asked to produce an ID, the suspect swore at the officers and instructed them to get it themselves. The suspect then stated that he was upset because his girlfriend had just broken up with him.
Officers arrested William Biers, 31, of Boston and charged him with Being Disorderly.
