CAN YOU HOLD MY GUN BEFORE I GO UNDER THE KNIFE

At about 9:23am, on Monday, January, 10, 2011, an officer performing a paid detail in the area of the Brigham and Women\’s Hospital responded to a call for a person with a gun inside the hospital. While en route to the call, the detail officer learned that the suspect was described as a white male in his late twenties, wearing a black leather jacket, red shirt, and blue jeans. In short time, the officer was able to locate an individual who looked like the suspect. Upon locating the suspect, officers escorted the suspect out of the hospital. Once outside, a search of the suspect enabled officers to locate and recover a firearm. When asked to produce a license to carry, the suspect was unable to. However, the suspect stated that his friend, who owns the firearm, asked him to hold the gun just before she went in for an undisclosed medical procedure.

Officers arrested Jason Kent, 31, of Dudley and charged him with Unlawful Possession of a Firearm, Unlawful Possession of Ammunition and Unlawfully Carrying a Loaded Firearm.

Officers spoke to the alleged owner of the firearm after her medical procedure was completed. When asked to produce a license to carry, the owner was unable to.
