The mission was to provide financial support for the families of police and fire personnel killed in the line of duty and those who passed away while on active duty. They offer families immediate financial assistance, counseling services, summer campership, funding with higher education and access to special events throughout Boston, all to support families who have endured the loss of a loved one. Currently, The Hundred Club supports 19 Boston Police families. The Hundred Club motto is, “We care for those….who care for us”. They celebrated their 50th year anniversary of serving public safety personnel and their families just last year.
The Boston Police Office of Family Assistance has collaborated closely with The Hundred Club of Massachusetts for many years to assist members of law enforcement with various needs. The Office of Family Assistance assists BPD members with retirement and benefits, officers who have been injured or become ill, assist families of officers who pass away while active duty, assist with funerals of officers killed in the line of duty and provide continued support to their families.
