Larceny Suspect Doesn’t Get Too Far

Around 10:00PM last night, officers from District C-11 (Dorchester) heard a broadcast from a detail officer describing a suspect who was wanted for larceny of a bicycle from the Boys and Girls Club. Officers further received information that the suspect was observed wheeling two bicycles towards Pleasant Street.

Officers then searched the area and at the intersection of Church and Fifield Streets observed an individual matching the suspect description with a crowd looking at the two bicycles. The suspect then jumped on one of the two bicycles and rode off leaving the other bike when he observed officers. Officers caught up with the suspect and questioned about ownership of the bicycles and he gave conflicting answers about whose they were and where he got them.

The victim was transported to the scene and positively identified one of the two bicycles that the suspect had when officers observed him. The suspect was unable to provide officers with any information regarding the other bike he had in his possession.

The suspect, a 13-year old juvenile from Dorchester was arrested and charged with Larceny over $250.00 and Receiving Stolen Property.
