DAILY INCIDENTS FOR WEDNESDAY, JUNE 23, 2010

POLICE ARREST ONE FOR THE UNLAWFUL POSSESSION OF A FIREARM 

At about 2:51pm, on Tuesday, June 22, 2010, officers from Area B-3 (Mattapan) responded to a call for a person with a gun in the area of the Dorchester Court House. According to the caller, two black males, both wearing t-shirts, were waving firearms at each other. On arrival, officers promptly broadcast a description of the suspects over the police radio. In short time, officers observed two individuals who looked like the suspects. Officers conducted a pat frisk of both suspects for the presence of weapons, however, neither individual was in possession of a firearm. Officers conducted a search of the immediate where the suspects were located. As a result of the search, officers were able to locate and take possession of a firearm. Officers spoke to several witnesses who stated that they observed one of the individuals with a firearm tucked into his back pocket.  Witnesses stated that the individual with the firearm was the taller of the two suspects. 

Officers arrested William Pritchard, 23, of Dorchester and charged him with the Unlawful Possession of a Firearm, Unlawful Possession of Ammunition and Carrying a Loaded Firearm on a Public Way.

POLICE ARREST TWO BREAKING INTO CARS IN SOUTHIE 

At about 12:24am, on Wednesday, June 23, 2010, officers from Area C-6 (South Boston) responded to a radio call two black males possibly breaking into a motor vehicle in the area of 70 Marine Rd.

Upon arrival, officers spoke to witnesses who stated they observed two teenage black males, with flashlights in hand, rummaging through a motor vehicle. Witnesses stated that they were walking in the area and when the suspects saw them, one of suspects fled on foot while other fled the scene on a bicycle. In short time, officers observed two individuals who matched the description of the suspects. As officers approached, both suspects attempted to run away from the officers. Officers were able to catch up to and apprehend both suspects. 

While the suspects were being detained, witnesses were brought the scene for identification purposes. Once on scene, witnesses were able to positively identify the suspects. 

Officers arrested Kerwin Cornelius, 17, of Boston and a 16 year-old male and charged both with Breaking & Entering a Motor Vehicle. 

SUSPECT WANTED IN CONNECTION WITH ARMED ROBBERY IN CHARLESTOWN

At about 8:45am, on Wednesday, June 23, 2010, officers from Area A-1 (Downtown) responded to a radio call for an armed robbery in the area of 134 Bunker Hill Street (United National Market). On arrival, offices spoke to a store employee who stated that a while male, in his thirties, with blonde hair, wearing a black shirt, entered the store, showed a firearm and demanded money. The store employee stated that the suspect, after taking an undisclosed amount of money, fled the store on foot.
