Last night around 7:55PM, officers from district A-1 responded to 175 Tremont Street/AMC Theaters for a person with a gun.
On arrival, officers spoke to movie theater personnel who reported that a guest heard a person say that they had a gun and that they were going to shoot up the place. Movie theater personnel further reported that they had experienced some problems with the same suspect almost a week ago on 6/6/10. On that day, the suspect jumped on the counter twice threatening to shoot everyone and when the employees fled in fear, the suspect stole some money from the register and fled the area.
Officers were able to find the suspect and detain him. A video was then observed of the incident and witnesses positively identified the male as the one who had made the threat about shooting up the place and had jumped over the counter and stolen money from the register.
The suspect, Chukuma E. Ajene, 26, of Mattapan was arrested and charged with Armed Robbery and Trespassing.
