DOUBLE SHOOTING CLAIMS ONE FEMALE VICTIM
BOSTON POLICE QUICKLY APPREHEND TWO MURDER SUSPECTS
At about 1:15am, on Saturday, May 22, officers from Area B-3 (Mattapan) responded to a radio call for two people shot in the area of 183 Harvard Street in Dorchester. On arrival, officers located two victims; an 18 year-old black male and a 24 year-old black female, both suffering from what appeared to be gunshot wounds. The female victim was transported to the Boston Medical Center where she later succumbed to injuries and was pronounced. The male victim, who was also transported to the Boston Medical Center, was treated for non-life threatening injuries.
An officer, who was in the immediate vicinity at the time of the shooting, heard the gunshots and observed two individuals fleeing from the scene. As a result, the officer immediately called for back-up and began pursuing the suspects on foot. During the course of the foot pursuit, the officer lost sight of the suspects. However, a search of the area enabled responding officers to locate the suspects hiding in a backyard in the area of Gleason Street.
Officers retraced the steps taken during the course of the foot pursuit. As a result, officers were able to locate and take possession of two firearms.
Officers arrested Kadeem Foreman, 20, of Boston and Terrell Rainey, 20, of Boston and charged both with Murder, Unlawful Possession of a Firearm and Unlawful Possession of Ammunition.
