DEATH INVESTIGATION – Dorchester Ave @ Roseland Street

On Friday, May 7, 2010, at approximately 6:27pm, Boston Police Officers assigned out of Area C-11 (Dorchester), responded to the area of Dorchester Avenue at Roseland Street for a report of a person shot.

Upon arrival, officers observed a black male who apparently sustained multiple gunshot wounds. The Boston Fire Department & Boston EMS treated the victim before he was transported to Boston Medical Center. The victim later succumb to his wounds and was pronounced.

At this time, the victim is only being described as a black male in his early Twenties.

Initial information led officers to a nearby residence (10 St. Marks Road) where a code 99 (barricade situation) was declared. Persons of interest were believed to be inside. This location was eventually cleared. At this time, no arrests have been made.

This incident marks the City’s Twentieth (20) homicide of 2010. This time last year, the City also experienced Twenty (20) homicides.
