About 3:25 am Thursday, 03/25/10, officers on patrol while traveling on Washington Street toward Columbia Road in Roxbury noticed a black Chevrolet Suburban traveling in the opposite direction on Washington Street at a speed greater than the posted speed limit. Officers turned around, activated the police cruisers blue lights and conducted a traffic stop in front of 486 Blue Hill Avenue. Officers approached the vehicle and detected an odor of burnt marijuana coming from inside the vehicle. Based upon the smell of marijuana coming from inside the vehicle and the nervous manner of both occupants, officers ordered the driver and passenger out of the vehicle. A small clear plastic bag containing marijuana was recovered from one of the occupants right vest pocket. A black loaded revolver was recovered from under the driver’s seat of the vehicle. Officers asked to see a license to carry a firearm from both occupants and both denied having one.
