Bronze “donation” plaques stolen from Commonwealth Avenue Mall Area.

On Thursday, March 25, 2010, at approximately 10:45am, a Boston Police Officer conducting a paid detail, learned of approximately one dozen bronze “donation” plaques stolen from the area of the Commonwealth Avenue Mall (100 block), Boston (Back Bay).

The plaques were in the name of various people who contributed in the efforts of enhancing the appearance of the general area. The plaques were set in the ground at the foot of several benches. Sometime over the past Twenty-four-hours, the plaques were pried from the ground. The plaques have an estimated purchase value of approximately four-Hundred-dollars.

Boston Police Detective’s (D-4) and Boston Park Rangers responded to the scene to investigate. BPD (D-4) Detective’s are actively investigating the incident and are pursuing the safe return of the plaques and the apprehension of the persons responsible.
