18 Year-Old Charged After Attempting to Purchase Alcohol with Fake ID

On Wednesday, December 2, 2009, at approximately 10:44pm, Boston Police Officers, assigned out of Area E-18 (West Roxbury), responded to 175 Wolcott Square (Richard’s Wine & Spirits) for a report of a disturbance.

Officers arrived on-scene and spoke with the clerk who informed them that a young male attempted to purchase alcohol with a fraudulent identification card. The clerk examined the card and became suspicious of it. The male was then asked to spell his last name, to which he could not do. The individual became nervous and fled the store leaving his wallet on the counter. Shortly thereafter, the suspect returned in order to retrieve his wallet. The suspect threatened the clerk several times attempting to get his wallet back. The suspect again fled the store prior to the arrival of the officers.

Officers learned of the suspect’s true identity from his license that was located within his wallet. Officers were informed by a witness that the suspect was traveling in a motor vehicle on Hyde Park Avenue towards Meigs Field. The vehicle was stopped and the operator was identified as the person who attempted to purchase the alcohol.

Officers summonsed Robert Bunszell, 18, of West Roxbury on the charges of Possession of a False Identification Card and Underage Person Attempting to Purchase Alcohol.
